- interested in the careers of software engineers and researchers
The Global Dev Study #4 - FastAPI and Python Practice
Get a chance to learn about FastAPI from its creator, Sebastián Ramírez!
In this talk, you will learn how to easily build a production-ready web (JSON) API with FastAPI, including best practices by default. With very little code, you will get automatic/interactive documentation, data validation, authentication, and more. On top of that, you will have to autocomplete and type checks in your editor, even for your own data, no matter how complex its shape is.
His talk is targeted at web app practitioners but can be appropriate for anyone interested in building web APIs. It’s a very practical talk showing working code examples.
We will also have Reuven M. Lerner, the author of "Python Workout".
He will share several essential Python exercises and their solutions to help attendees become better Python developers! Have you been using #Python for more than a year, and want to sharpen your skills?
Join the talk to learn from Reuven M. Lerner!
We will have live coding from both speakers! Register now to to stay updated!

Sebastián Ramírez (tiangolo) is the creator of FastAPI, Typer, and other open source tools. He has worked and led teams of developers from Latin America to the Middle East. Always building different types of products and custom solutions involving data processing, distributed systems, and Machine Learning. FastAPI was included in the last official Python developer survey of 2020, and it was ranked as the 3rd most used Python web framework. And by different metrics, FastAPI could be considered the Python web framework with the highest growth rate. FastAPI, Typer, and some of the other open source tools are currently used by many teams from all sizes, from solo developers to many renowned corporations. And these libraries are used for building applications ranging from small data handling tools to complex systems for machine learning, astronomy, and many other fields. Sebastián was recently part of Explosion, in Germany, the team that created spaCy, a popular open source NLP toolkit. Currently Sebastián is a Staff Software Engineer at Forethought, and he's dedicating a high percentage of his working time to FastAPI, Typer, and the other open source projects.
